Help for a shedding double coatLoose undercoat can gather around the trousers, chest and shoulders. Undercoat care focuses on hair that is ready to come away. We assess the coat first and explain what can be removed during the visit. The aim is a coat that is easier to maintain, with the outer coat left intact. This treatment does not stop normal shedding. What we doWashing and a thorough rinse help prepare the coat. We dry in sections, then use tools suited to the coat to lift out loose hair. We do not keep working one area simply to collect more fur. The amount removed varies with the season and the individual coat.Check for compacted areas behind the ears and around the hindquartersWash, dry and remove loose undercoat in stagesShow you a useful brushing and combing techniquePlanning your visitTell us when the coat last received thorough care and whether handling particular areas is difficult. Avoid intensive brushing just before the appointment. We discuss any matting separately rather than assuming it will brush out. At collection, we suggest a home routine based on the coat we have actually handled.
